Shami opened clynden ave in January 2024 to care for her patients in a space of calm, safety, and respect. Since then, clynden ave has grown to become a centre for specialist care, provided by the best of the best.
The building was previously occupied by an architectural firm, which you will feel immediately as you step into the space.

Dr Shami Kathurusinghe

Dr Shami is a highly sought-after specialist gynaecologist who performs high-volume complex gynaecological surgery across both public and private hospitals, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. She has undertaken advanced training in minimally invasive and complex gynaecological surgery at nationally and internationally recognised centres of excellence, including Oxford University Hospitals (UK).
Her clinical practice focuses on the management of complex and multifactorial gynaecological conditions, including advanced endometriosis surgery involving bowel and extrapelvic sites. She also performs fertility-optimising surgery, including procedures aimed at improving reproductive outcomes prior to assisted conception, and works closely with fertility specialists to support coordinated, individualised care. Dr Shami works within multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive assessment, careful surgical planning, and optimal outcomes for patients with complex presentations.
With additional expertise in neuropelveology and the integration of emerging surgical technologies, Dr Shami is known for her meticulous surgical technique and sound clinical judgement. Surgery is recommended only when appropriate, with each treatment pathway carefully tailored to the individual and aligned with best practice.

Dr Saima is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and an AGES Accredited Advanced Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgeon. She completed her laparoscopic training with the prestigious
Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery (SWAPS) Unit and undertook a Da Vinci Robotic Fellowship at Sydney Adventist Hospital with Dr Yogesh Nikam, alongside a Master of Surgery at Western Sydney University.
She specialises in endometriosis, pelvic pain, and complex gynaecological conditions, with a strong focus on multidisciplinary care.
A passionate teacher and mentor, Dr Saima is a lecturer at Western Sydney University and the University of Notre Dame, facilitates laparoscopic workshops with AGES and SWAPS, and contributes to RANZCOG surgical training programs. She is deeply engaged in clinical research, and has presented widely at national and international conferences.

She is also a Certified Menopause and Menstruation Coach and Certified Life Coach. She brings her psychological and academic knowledge, experience and coaching skills, to support women of all ages, to navigate the complex physical and emotional challenges of menstruation and menopause. Dr Baljit founded MenoBloom to equip women with strategies, mechanisms, and women-centric psychological behavioural tools, to self-harmonize the mind, body, and spirit. She provides supportive holistic person-focused coaching techniques and strategies to help women and girls bridge the gap between where they are now and where they want to be; feel empowered to make their own decisions; setting realistic and actionable goals that align with their values, desires and priorities.

Dr Lynda is a warm and passionate specialist general practitioner who offers whole person care with a weight-neutral, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive lens, to people of all ages, genders and backgrounds.
Dr Lynda is fascinated by how people’s stories, and those of their loved ones, shape who they are and how they arrive to each moment of their lives. This has led to her expanding into psychotherapy for people experiencing distress, significant life transitions or even simply needing a supportive and reflective counselling option.
She is trained in EMDR therapy, as well as traditional CBT, ACT, interpersonal therapy as well as mindfulness-based approaches.

Nikki Campbell

Nikki is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with over 14 years of practice across acute and subacute healthcare settings. She is committed to reducing barriers to care through a holistic, patient-centred approach that empowers patients and promotes self-management within a biopsychosocial framework. In 2021, Nikki established Australia’s first private nurse-led endometriosis clinic, reflecting her leadership and dedication to advancing access to specialised reproductive healthcare. She has undertaken extensive postgraduate education, and is currently undertaking a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice (Nurse Practitioner) and intends to apply for endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner upon completion in late 2026. Upon endorsement, she will be qualified to independently assess patients, diagnose conditions, order investigations, prescribe medications, and refer to other healthcare professionals. During her Nurse Practitioner candidacy, Nikki consults with patients at Clynden Ave under the clinical supervision of Dr Shami.
